Why are there two prices for courses at AxisCentre?
From September 2009, the amount you pay to attend a course at AxisCentre will depend on the qualifications you currently hold. Simply put, if you have a degree (or HND, UCPD of NVQ 4) on entry to any of our courses, you pay the graduate price, if you don't, you pay the non-graduate price.
Course fees for non-graduates*
- 3 day courses (10 UCPD credits) - £225 to £310
- 5 day courses (15 UCPD credits) - £329 to £439
- 7 day courses (30 UCPD credits) - £371 to £495
* These prices are for those who DO NOT hold a degree or equivalent qualification or above (MSc, Degree, HND, NVQ Level 4/5). Prices are fully inclusive and VAT is not applicable. Prices are rough estimates for 2010 only and subject to availability. See individual courses for actual prices.
Course fees for graduates (and non-EU students)**
- 3 day courses (10 UCPD credits) - £295 to £395
- 5 day courses (15 UCPD credits) - £395 to £615
- 7 day courses (30 UCPD credits) - £595 to £895
** These prices are for those who DO hold a degree or equivalent qualification or above (MSc, Degree, HND, NVQ Level 4/5). Prices are fully inclusive and VAT is not applicable. Prices are rough estimates for 2010 only and subject to availability. See individual courses for actual prices.
All course fees include
- Tuition by field-active industry professional
- Professional Development credits from De Montfort University (for your CV and CPD)
- University student status with full access to library, discounts and other resources
- Post-course support and events through free membership of AxisCommunity
Why is this? What's changed?
Last year the government announced its 'ELQ' policy for Higher Education. In short it is no longer prepared to fund or subsidise people wishing to study for qualifications equal or lower then the ones they currently hold. For graduates, we have effectively gone from receiving funding from De Montfort University for your attendance, to actually having to pay De Montfort to award you your UCPD professional development credits.
Two prices, one commitment to value
Over the last 3 years, AxisCentre has worked very hard to keep the cost of study down to an absolute minimum, and 2009-2010 was no exception on this ethos. We have taken the step of having two sets of course fee prices, and banding courses as Intro, Intermediate and Advanced, with course fees set lowest for intro courses and increasing for the more technically complex and higher value courses.
