Course Outline

The course's primary focus is that of promoting the implementation web standards and accessibility for corporate websites.

Many of today's web designers and developers rely totally on the use of existing web design tools such as Adobe Dreamweaver or Flash to create their web pages. Although these tools are capable of creating standards compliant and accessible web content, the best way to ensure compliance with standards and the UK law is to have an intrinsic understanding of what these standards are.

A particular focus of the course is on the accessibility of web based business applications and web based communication technologies.

Delegates can also gain professional qualification credits towards a University Certificate of Professional Development or degree from De Montfort University.

Who is it aimed at?

This course is aimed at :

  • Individuals and business staff who have already created or are mantaining existing websites
  • Those who already understand hand coding XHTML and CSS and want to implement web accessibility
  • Individuals and business staff who want to better understand the need for web standards and accessibility
Entry requirements

Although there are no formal qualifications required to attend this course, delegates should have an understanding of web design and should ideally have built simple websites in the past. If you are unsure about these requirements, please contact us via the contact us page.

Delivery method

The course is a 3 day fully trainer led course. To help reduce the effect on your business of losing a member of staff for 3 days, this course runs 1 day a week over 3 weeks. Delegates then have the time needed to absorb and implement the information gained during these intensive training days.
