Students from the Enterprise Webmaster course studying web standards

Student comment : Good course, very helpful. Maybe the averagre rating for balance between theory and practice is the shortfall in how to achieve outcomes as opposed to showing what the issues were....

Did you enjoy the course?

Yes on the whole.

What aspects you enjoyed the most?

The number of tools covered that help ensure you get the job done correctly - W3C tools and screen readers etc..

Anything you didn't enjoy?

No..

Did you learn the skills you needed?

Broadly speaking yes.

What were the highlights of what you learned?

Looking at sites you design from other peoples perspective, even down to colour schemes etc. No matter how good you think what you have done is, it is always important to get multiple opinions..

Did anything hinder your learning?

No..

In what ways are you beginning to think differently?

How I 'alt' tag pictures, not duplicating words or phrases, ensuring structure of sites make sense and flows correctly through the code. Deisgns are made a lot simpler and easy to look at!.

Will you be applying your new skills?

Yes definitely.

When are you likely to apply your new skills?

Within a week.

What are your short term plans for applying the learning? (1-12 weeks)

Complete redesign of the charity web site to ensure it is standards compliant and that it is accessable to a good standard..

What are your long term plans for applying the learning? (13+ weeks)

Need to go away and learn how to overcome some of the standards issues that were discussed but not shown how to fix..

What difference is the course likely to make to you or your business?

Reasonable difference, things moving in the right direction.

Your general comment on likely business benefit:

We will be a lot more confident that our web site is more user friendly and compliant, which as a charity we have to ensure that we are by law..
