Did you enjoy the course?
Really enjoyed it.
What aspects you enjoyed the most?
Learning something completely out of my skill set and comfort zone..
Anything you didn't enjoy?
The pace was too fast for me ... but then I was coming without any background knowledge so that's only to be expected..
Did you learn the skills you needed?
Yes completely.
What were the highlights of what you learned?
A really good insight into php and the realisation that's it not so mysterious after all. .
Did anything hinder your learning?
Lack of html knowledge and no background with the grammar of scripting languages..
In what ways are you beginning to think differently?
I looking to incorporate some php features into my website and potentially into the websites of some of our clients..
Will you be applying your new skills?
Yes definitely.
When are you likely to apply your new skills?
Within 3 months.
What are your short term plans for applying the learning? (1-12 weeks)
I intend to add more contact forms, availability check forms I also intend to build a cms including all the elements I learned together with whatever I can piece together from other sources and see how it shapes up. etc to my website. .
What are your long term plans for applying the learning? (13+ weeks)
I've become interested enough in php to continue increasing my knowledge. In time I would like to develop our own CMS system at the same time as working on customising wordpress systems. .
What difference is the course likely to make to you or your business?
Big difference, skills gap significantly addressed.
Your general comment on likely business benefit:
I do not intend to become a php developer but I will be able to use it to add features to my website and the websites of some of our clients. In the long term, the main advantage may be that I will be able to speak more knowledgably with professional php developers on more complicated projects for our clients..
