This eCommerce course explores the extensive, invisible 'back-end' systems that make online business possible: credit cards, electronic cash and search engines that bring customers to online storefronts. Includes the live build of a system.

Both Microsoft ASP, Structured Query Language (SQL), secure payments and an introduction to relational databases are covered as part of this in-depth look at eCommerce solutions. Delegates can also gain professional qualification credits towards a University Certificate of Professional Development or degree from De Montfort University.

Who is it aimed at?

Employees and key decision makers involved in specifying, designing and maintaining a searchable catalogue, online database, shopping cart and secure payment system. This course gives those with little or no experience with relational databases grounding in the concepts and techniques they will need in order to build databases for ecommerce solutions.

Entry requirements

Although there are no formal qualifications required to attend this course, Windows and Web familiarity is required, plus basic Adobe Dreamweaver familiarity. (Clearly a delegate with greater similar/transferable skills and experience will be able to potentially achieve more than someone with the basic entry criteria).

Delivery method

The course is a 10 day fully trainer led course. To help reduce the effect on your business of losing a member of staff for 10 days, this course runs 1 day a week over 10 weeks. Delegates then have the time needed to absorb and implement the information gained during these intensive training days.
